Sharif University Teams Advance to the Global Programming Championships

At the West Asia programming competitions, Sharif University of Technology claimed all four top positions, securing the championship and once again affirming the international standing of Iranian students in competitive programming.

According to Mehr News Agency, the 26th National Collegiate Programming Contest was held on Friday, December 26, 2025 (5 Dey 1404) at Sharif University of Technology, with the participation of 90 three-member teams from 64 universities nationwide. More than 250 of the country’s top programmers competed over five hours, tackling a series of challenging algorithmic problems.

In the West Asia international division, which served as a qualifying round for the ICPC World Finals 2026 in China, teams from Sharif University delivered an outstanding performance, sweeping first through fourth place. According to the judges’ announcement, first place went to the team lp1 on fire (Parsa Pardeli, Amirhossein Farrokhandehfar, and Alireza Kaviani); second place to Big Dash (Parsa Farajpour, Soheil Mohammdkhani, and Amirhossein Vahidi-Tabar); third place to SIA (Amirali Askari, Ilya Eslahi, and Shayan Razavi); and fourth place to More is less less (Amirreza Dorosti, Parsa Golestani, and Alireza Rahimi).

According to the competition secretariat, the champion team will advance directly to the ICPC World Finals in China, while ten other top-ranked teams will prepare over the next two months for the West Asia Championship round, which will provide additional opportunities for Iranian teams to qualify for the global stage.
