The 8th National Conference of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Iran will be held over two days on February 18–19, 2026 (corresponding to 29–30 Bahman 1404) at the conference hall of the National Museum of Iran. The event will focus on informal education, innovation in museology, and the future of technology in museums.
According to ISNA, the conference aims to provide a scholarly platform for dialogue and exchange among researchers, museum professionals, science communication practitioners, and cultural managers. The two-day event will address key issues related to the role of museums in science promotion, the development of public scientific literacy, the use of emerging technologies, improved accessibility, future-oriented approaches to museology, and intercultural interaction.
The conference program is organized around four main thematic areas:
- Informal education and science communication in museums and science centers
- Innovative approaches to museology and sustainable development
- The role of museums and science centers in social change and cultural diversity
- Emerging technologies and the future of museums
According to the Public Relations Office of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Iran, papers will be accepted and reviewed in two categories: academic research papers and practice-based submissions. The academic section includes theoretical studies and scholarly research, while the practice-based section is dedicated to professional experiences, case studies, and applied narratives from museum activities.
The deadline for paper submission is February 10, and the final registration deadline is February 20.
