Call for Submissions: 33rd National Student Book of the Year Festival

The Organization for the Promotion of Reading and Publishing of the Academic Jihad has announced the call for submissions for the 33rd National Student Book of the Year Festival, with special emphasis on the themes of “Literature of Progress,” “Artificial Intelligence,” and “Governance.”

According to IRNA, based on the official call, university students and seminary students are invited to submit their authored or translated works to the festival secretariat by April 20, 2027 (31 Farvardin 1405).

Students from all academic disciplines and degree levels, as well as seminary students at various levels, may participate without any limit on the number of submissions. Books may be submitted in six main categories—Engineering and Technology, Basic Sciences, Humanities, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Medical and Veterinary Sciences, and Art and Architecture—as well as a special section.

Under the festival regulations, submitted works must have been published between the beginning of 2024 and the end of 2025 (1403–1404). The author’s or translator’s period of study must coincide with the publication date of the book. Graduates are also eligible, provided their book was published within two years of graduation and within the specified timeframe.

Additional requirements include having standard bibliographic information, obtaining an official publication receipt from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance (including for electronic publications), registering on the festival’s online platform at www.isba.ir, and submitting two copies of the published book. For translated works, submission of the original-language text is also mandatory.

The secretariat has announced that submitted works will not be returned, and in cases where a book has multiple authors or translators, only one award will be granted.

Publishers may also submit student-authored books they have published, along with the online registration form, to the festival secretariat. During the closing ceremony, publishers who have played a significant role in supporting and promoting student publications will be formally recognized.

The special section of the 33rd National Student Book of the Year Festival is dedicated to the themes of “Literature of Progress,” “Artificial Intelligence,” and “Governance.”

After completing online registration at www.isba.ir, applicants must mail two copies of the original work along with the registration form to the following address:
